I saw you that day
in my head, a vision of peace
is what I had. You were with the one you love—
as it should be; there shall you stay life eternally.
I haven’t spoken the words: “I love you” in quite some time
So, I place this precious phrase within my rhyme:
I love you! I love you! It is not too late!
You’ve known all along, and Grandma, too.
God blessed me with that vision of just you two
Together in harmony, peace, and love
I smile, for you are with our Lord above.
You told me life comes with a price,
which is what you pay for with your life.
Yet, that did not stop you from enjoying the company
of your family, whom you loved so much.
You instilled in me the history of your past—one
filled with strength, courage, and salvation.
South to north, you traveled to insure a future,
and the product still remains. For that purpose
alone you will not have passed in vain.
Peace is what you followed; you dragged me
with you to get a taste, and now it shadows me.
I know peace does not stop pain, it eases
the feeling that aches in the heart that has lost.
Tears still strolled down the road of age lending
a hand in the process of grief. My spirit rejoiced,
for it knew that the day was not sad.
Going Home, I’d expect: wouldn’t be.
