Taking A Chance

by: Nehemiah L. Hemingway

I’m going out on a limb
So I can explain just how I feel.
But, I only take this chance
Because I know this love is real.

You know we’re meant to be together,
But you’re afraid to admit that fact.
You know that we really need each other,
But it’s trust that you seem to lack.

There has always been some skepticism
About the feelings that we hold.
And each time our eyes greet each other
You can sense the truth that is untold.

I know you want to greet eyes daily,
But we both know that won’t be,
Not until you gain the courage needed
To confess the love you have for me.

I’m pouring my heart out now;
Hoping that you will do the same.
You can put an end to this unhappiness.
Together we can wipe away this pain.

I know I went out on a limb
Just to explain the way I felt.
But I only took the chance
Because my love is for no one else.

It's Yours to Cherish

by: Nehemiah L. Hemingway

Do you know when I gave my heart away?
It did not take a year, a month, nor a day.
It happended the moment our paths crossed.
It skipped a beat; my words were at a loss.

It now belongs to you, my dear,
To hold and squeeze, but please beware:
Without constant love it will start to ache
And if love's lost, it will surely break.

Now that you know this in advance,
Prepare my heart some sweet romance.
Keep the fire strong; keep it alive.
Make sure that the flames never die (out).

For it is your heart, and with you it'll stay,
Even when this earth and time passes away.

A Girl for Everyday of the Week

by: Nehemiah L. Hemingway

One has something special
That the other one does not.
So, you date every candidate
Until X marks the spot.

It’s a game for a player,
You’re border lining pimp.
Don’t carry on too long
Or certain pieces might end up limp.

A man that digs the ladies,
I can sympathize with that.
It's when the game becomes reality
You realize you’ve been trapped.

A is the girl that gives good massages,
And not just with her hands.
She’s not the one you want
Cause she does not come on demand.

B is a girl that is good at conversing
But talking is not always fun.
Other things can be accomplished,
More intriguing things can be done.

C is one of the guys–
She likes watching football too.
She kinds of becomes annoying
Because she hits harder than you.

D is soft as your pillows
That you sleep on every night–
Eventually you get new ones
When the fluffiness isn’t right.

E knows a romantic language,
Spanish to be exact.
You even tried to learn it
But found it hard as crap.

F was the perfect option
Yet that did not go as planned.
She told you two weeks later,
“I already have a man.”

G is that girl that says,
“We will always be friends.”
Free to see the outside,
But there’s a price to get in.

A, B, C, D, E, F, G
That’s a girl for each day of the week.

They'll Arise

by: Nehemiah L. Hemingway

Trying to figure out secrets about things within this life;
Yet you never ask a question to determine if you’re right.

Built up assumptions, misguided doubts, and fears–
Sometimes it is an answer that you don’t wish to hear.

Asking may be the hardest and easiest thing to do.
When you learn the answer it will have an effect on you.

Nothing should ever stop you from searching for the truth
But be prepared for the hurt and pain that normally follows suit.

The truth will be discovered no matter where it hides.
Every secret will be revealed, even the littlest of lies.

Digging for Gold

by: Nehemiah L. Hemingway

Unaware of on-looking eyes
Planning to attack your space;
Formulating a group of lies
For when you meet face-to-face.

The truth becomes a disease–
A plague that frightens the world.
Now beauty becomes a beast
Who would prefer diamonds and pearls.

Make sure your mind is focused
On the thing you cannot see–
The motive behind the words;
The truth that’s underneath.

All of this because of your style;
An attempt to score some cash.
You managed to ignore her smile.
She gets up an leaves at last.

The brain is a powerful tool–
You use it to stop her plot;
Forcing her to see she’s a fool
And you to realize you’re not.
